Our first full day in Heredia was just that - a FULL day!
We visited the school Owen and Luke will be attending but the director wasn't there, so we were told to come back in the afternoon, which we did and got to meet her on her way out. The assistant director showed us around the school (again - no camera! - but I'll take pics once the boys are there). It is of course very different compared to our schools in San Diego, but it is just about what we expected. There are just over 400 students, a small library, a computer room, a gymnasium for PE and a small playground for the kinder students. It doesn't appear that the first graders (and older kids) really have a playground, just an open space to play in. There's also a little cafeteria where they can eat. It is safe and clean, and all of the kids seemed to be very curious about Owen and Luke!
We went to downtown Heredia to get a phone for me (cheaper to stop my service in SD temporarily and buy a phone here). If anyone wants or needs to get ahold of me, call me at the house by dialing 011-506-2265-4502 or better yet, my mobile number at 011-506-8415-1301.
We went grocery shopping and stocked up on some staple items, but I think I'll be visiting the "super" frequently, as their refrigerator is on the smaller side.
After all of our errands and Francisco got off from work, we decided to take Francisco and Jose Fabio out for a nice seafood dinner, as a small gesture of thanks for all they're doing for us.
